Friend, this is one place where I struggle. How about you? It is counter-intuitive to my human mindset that this

is how life should work. When someone is mean or difficult, I am mean and difficult right back. Of course I tend

to ratchet it up a bit because well, they started it. I have to admit, sometimes it even feels good. But most of the

time, I think of what to say after they are long gone and the moment has passed. Never fear, I have a long memory

and payback, well….

I have seen depictions of someone being mean and the other person shows kindness and the mean person shows

remorse. I must hang out with the wrong people because when I try that, the mean people just continue on even

if they are called on it. I am sure that with enough kindness eventually difficult people can change. I am probably

proof of that. I can think of people in my life who were always kind even when I wasn’t.

I am also acutely aware that I am at times a mean person too. So how to turn that mindset around. Jesus

understands that the only way to point someone to Him is to do the opposite of what the world does. He knows

it's hard, because if anyone knows opposition it’s Him. Let’s make a promise to tackle that one together.
